Honors Project: Honors Wheel Throwing
Honors Course: Intro to Wheel Throwing
Instructor: Louis Pierozzi
My name is Cheyanne Chiero. I came to Oakton to pursue an Associates in Arts degree and take classes to explore various interests in an attempt to find something I wanted to study further or turn into a future career. Since I was young, I've had an interest in Art so I took classes to improve my artistic abilities. After finishing the A.A. degree at the end of the Spring 2022 semester, I decided to take a few extra classes to obtain an Associates in Fine Arts degree as well. I plan to use the skills I learned at Oakton to improve the Art I create and bring my creativity into my future projects and career.
After taking Ceramics 1 at Oakton, I wanted to improve my skills on the pottery wheel so I took Professor Pierozzi’s Honors: Intro to Wheel Throwing class. In his class, I considered what elements of design I could use to create and accentuate each piece. I focused on learning and improving necessary techniques while trying to make each piece unique in its own way. This presentation shows the many pieces I created with the instruction and guidance of Professor Pierozzi and everyone else in the studio.
