Honors Project: Ecological Impacts Realized upon Adopting Agricultural Technologies—Focus on India

Honors Course: Honors General College Biology II

Instructor: Khursheed Ichhaporia

My name is Suraj Shibu, and I am a sophomore at Oakton completing my Associates in Science degree. I plan on transferring to University of Illinois in Chicago in the Fall of 2024 to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and plan to pursue my career in dental school.

My honors project explores the ecological impact of different agricultural technologies, focusing on India. My background includes studying agricultural practices and horticulture in India. For this project, I researched and analyzed six different technologies currently used in the agricultural sector and established their positive as well as negative impacts on the environment. Finally, it’s all thanks to the support and guidance from Dr. Khursheed Ichhaporia that I was able to accomplish this project!
