Instructor: Louis Pierozzi
My name is Jacqueline (Jackie) Christensen. I am a non-traditional student at Oakton College. My background is in Mechanical Engineering; I have my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. I have worked for several Fortune 500 companies in my engineering career, always focused upon product design. I am a lifetime learner and am currently enrolled in Oakton’s Ceramic Wheel Throwing classes to advance my pottery skills. I have been taking area pottery classes for several years, but recently was able to focus more time on this passion. After touring Oakton’s pottery studio in Spring 2022, I knew that I had found an exceptional place to learn and grow. I enrolled in the “Introduction to Wheel Throwing” class taught by Lou Pierozzi for the Fall 2022 semester.
This presentation shows my pottery journey and body of work for the Fall 2022 semester. I thank Prof. Pierozzi for all his instruction, guidance and encouragement to push my skills and address gaps in my knowledge. I also thank my fellow students for the inclusive, creative, safe, and warm environment that encourages experimentation, growth, and the sharing of ideas. We are all better and stronger together!
