My name is Liz Zamora. I will be receiving my Associate in Science degree at the end of the Spring 2024 semester including an Environmental Studies Concentration and the Honors Scholar Designation. I hope to transfer to Utah State the following Fall to pursue a Bachelors degree in Geology. I was lucky enough to take the Honors Learning Community this summer where my fellow classmates and I got to go on a roadtrip to several different national and state parks. It was an amazing experience, I learned so much and was able to see so many different parts of the country.
My project focuses on the trip we went on. During the entire trip I thought a lot about how the world is all interconnected, especially Native People and Geology. I developed a poster “The Interconnectedness of Native People and the World of Geology” that really dives into each place we visited and the connections I saw.
