My name is Suha Saba. After two years of being at Oakton, I successfully obtained my Associates in Arts. I plan on transferring and pursuing my Bachelors Degree at a four year institution in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business. Afterwards, I endeavor to attain my Masters degree in a similar field.

This project explores a collection unlike anything ever seen before. It is known as, “Luxury of Choice”. Sruli Recht created this collection of nineteen objects for the purpose of voluntary death. Through the composition of different objects utilizing a variety of materials, Recht embodies a deeper meaning in his work. It is important to note that by creating this collection, in no way was Recht attempting to glamorize or advocate one taking their life, but rather to consider it a meaningful act that demands a perception of intimacy to ultimately reach such a personal decision. I composed this project for the Contemporary Culture and the Arts course with Dr. Kristin McCartney. Through her guidance, I was able to shape my essay into a piece that would be part of an Art Catalog.
