Stephani Richards-Wilson, Ph.D.. Ed.D., will discuss the German student martyrs in The White Rose and their transatlantic legacy. She will explain why their story still matters. Specifically, she will highlight Willi Graf’s perspective when, in 1942, he wrote, “Every individual bears full responsibility,” asking, “What can ordinary individuals do to make the world a more just and humane place?” She will conclude with an update about the canonization process for Willi Graf within the Roman Catholic Church.
Stephani Richards-Wilson, Ph.D., Ed.D., was a Professor of Business and Management and the MBA faculty director at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was recently promoted to full professor and then retired to devote her time to White Rose studies and Willi Graf's cause for sainthood. Richards-Wilson holds a doctorate in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego and a Ph.D. in German from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Cosponsored by Jewish Studies and the Religious Studies Speaker Series.
