November 20, 10:00AM-10:45AM (DP1604 and Zoom) — Honors Student Ana Adamadze: “Overcoming Identity Dislocation: My Journey as a Georgian Immigrant”

Ana Adamadze is a first-year political science major at Oakton College. She moved from the country of Georgia in 2020 and has been advocating for immigration challenges for young adults since her senior year of high school. After earning an associate’s degree at Oakton, Ana hopes to transfer to a 4-year university to further pursue her passion for supporting those struggling within their country's systems.

As part of the Global Studies Program’s International Education Week Honors Student Ana Adamadze will give a presentation titled “Overcoming Identity Dislocation: My Journey as a Georgian Immigrant”. Ana will discuss her experiences immigrating from Georgia and the sense of identity displacement she encountered along the way. She will implement her experiences of losing her cultural identity, growing up without her family, and witnessing the struggles of the Georgians.

Join us to support one of your fellow Honors Students! Register here to attend either in-person in DP1604 or on Zoom.
