Internal Scholarships for Oakton Honors Students
(Oakton funded scholarships for incoming and current Oakton students)
Several of the students featured in this Honors showcase site were recipients of an Oakton Educational Foundation Scholarship, the Honors Scholarship, which is open to incoming students and was created through the efforts of Oakton’s Board of Trustees. This scholarship requires students to complete the Honors Scholar Designation by graduation and has been instrumental in supporting the academic achievement of many Oakton students.
The Oakton Educational Foundation has also endowed the Graff-Stacewicz Public Intellectual Honors Scholarship. This scholarship is open to current Honors students, whose work in the Honors Program has exemplified a commitment to public discourse and social justice. This fund was begun in tribute to two Honors Program faculty legends, Holly Graff and Richard Stacewicz (pictured below), whose passion, erudition, and commitment to social change transformed the lives of thousands of Oakton students.
Recipients of the Honors Scholarship and Graff-Stacewicz scholarship are selected by the Honors Coordinator under the advisement of the Honors Council and the Scholarship Coordinator.
